The quaintly-named Provincial X1 (why not Ireland A?) which takes on Bangladesh today at Malahide includes five players who suffered the frustration of the rained-off three full international matches in the north west earlier in the week. Kyle McCallan takes over as captain, and the others who experienced the long wait in Derry and Eglinton are Ed Joyce, Neil Carson, Paul Mooney and John Davy.

McCallan, Carson, Mooney and Davy all shared in last Friday's fine win over the Bangladeshis at Waringstown, and no doubt will be hoping for a repeat performance. Today's match will give several up-and-coming players a chance to test their mettle as well as gaining valuable representative experience, and the progress of Keith Spellman - in for the injured Greg Molins - no doubt will be watched with interest by Mike Hendrick and the selectors.

The Leinster Under-13 trial will be played at Rathmines on Tuesday, June 23rd, starting at 12.30, teams and substitutes to assemble at noon.
