Two of Ireland's most experienced women golfers will be on hand to offer advice to the country's up-and-coming players when the European Girls' Junior Team Championship commences in Oslo tomorrow. Former Curtis Cup player Claire Dowling, who played in the Home Internationals for an unbroken sequence from 1979 to 1992, and Ada O'Sullivan, who played for Ireland from 1982 to 1996, are putting their knowledge back into the game by acting as captain and manager respectively to the young Irish players.

The Irish team arrived in Norway on Sunday and played a practice round on the course yesterday, and there are strong hopes for a team that features Wexford's Elaine Dowdall, who is on a golfing scholarship to UCD, Co Louth's Jennifer Gannon, The Island's Pamela Murphy, Denise Doyle of Lahinch, Martina Gillen of Beaverstown, and Cork's Claire Coughlan.
