Conor O'Shea, dropped by Ireland last week, sealed a convincing Exiles win with his second try in the last gasp of injury time at the Stoop on Saturday.
As he attempts to regain his place in the Ireland team O'Shea will meet far sterner tasks than cutting loose against Quins, who missed tackles, dropped passes and gave their tenants easy turnovers. Their director of rugby John Gallagher reckoned four lost balls in the Irish 22 had cost his team 28 points and the match.
Their hospitality extended to gifting O'Shea Irish's opening try after 20 minutes. Their centre Peter Mensah was upended in the Exiles' 22, the ball was spilled and all the full-back had to do was sprint to the opposite end. Mensah was carried off on a stretcher with a broken cruciate ligament and his season may be over.
