RICHARD DUNWOODY should successfully renew his association with the progressive Nazzaro at Fontwell today. The champion jockey was seen at his best when he last rode the gelding at Newton Abbot in November, showing great strength and determination to get the better of Tony McCoy on Bond Jnr.
Nazzaro proved he was none the worse for that hard race when he followed up in smooth style at Bangor under Andrew Thornton. And he was in the lead when he fell early on the final circuit in an amateur riders' event at Warwick last time.
The seven-year-old's recent record is one of continuous improvement and there should be better still to come. Today's Panmure Gordon Handicap Chase over an extended three and a quarter miles in likely testing conditions will bring his abundant stamina fully into play.
Nazzaro remains on a winning mark and can justify Dunwoody's decision to make a quick return to Britain after a busy weekend in Ireland with winners at Leopardstown and Navan.
Time For A Flutter looks to be still very well in at the weights in the Shopwyke Handicap Hurdle. The seven-year-old was clearly well ahead of the handicapper at Worcester in November when she comfortably accounted for Sesame Seed who went on to score most impressively at Doncaster.
Though beaten by lightly-weighted Montagnard at Newton Abbot last time, she pulled 25 lengths clear of the remainder - many of whom have run well since - and remains favourably treated
Neither the tight track nor the softish going should prevent Time For A Flutter making it two wins in her last three starts.
