Down SHC Final replay: Ballygalget 0-17 Portaferry 1-10 Ballygalget dethroned Portaferry in the Down senior hurling final replay after producing an impressive second-half display at McKenna Park Ballycran yesterday.
Johnny McGrattan gave an exhibition of free-taking, scoring 10 points from placed balls.
Portaferry, seeking their fourth title in a row, scored a goal after four minutes through John Convery but McGrattan slotted over five frees to help see the sides level at half-time.
Two points by Ballygalget's Tom Coulter set up his side for victory. With McGrattan and Paul Braniff exchanging points at regular intervals it was those two points which separated the sides with 10 minutes left. Ballygalget finished stronger with points by Barry Coulter and McGrattan.
