Goalkeeper David Forde and newly-signed defender Billy Clery are both likely to go straight into the Derry team for this evening's game against fellow strugglers UCD, writes Emmet Malone.
Neither side has picked up any points from their opening four games of the campaign, but manager Kevin Mahon is hoping that the arrival of the two Galwaymen will bolster a defence that has so far struggled to cope.
The City boss will also be hoping that the hosts use a win over the students to kick-start their season, just as they did last year when, after taking one point from five games, they beat the Dubliners and then embarked on a strong run of form.
The home side will still be without Tommy McCallion and Liam Coyle, both of whom have returned to training but are still some way off being match fit while Paul Doolin has slight doubts about Darragh Ryan and Alan Cawley.
