Derry SFC Final: Loup 0-11 Ballinderry 0-7 Loup pulled off a big surprise by defeating champions Ballinderry in the final of the Derry senior football championship at Celtic Park yesterday.

Loup's Paul McFlynn and Ronan Rocks scored early points but two frees from Enda Muldoon and an Adrian McGuckin point edged the holders back in front by the 18th minute. A Shane McFlynn point in the 20th minute levelled the scores at 0-3 each.

Leading 0-6 to 0-3 at half time, Loup's Ronan Rocks pointed a free after two minutes but James Conway replied for the Shamrocks. However the expected Ballinderry fightback never materialised and James Conway was sent off for felling Loup skipper Johnny McBride.
