Liverpool's change for revenge

LIVERPOOL have been handed the chance to gain swift revenge after being paired with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Last year's losing Cup finalists were defeated 1-0 by a goal from Robert Di Matteo in a Premiership clash at the Bridge on New Year's Day.

It is the glamour match of a draw which produced only three cut and dried ties because of the weekend weather which decimated the third round programme and meant only 14 sides are definitely through.

Liverpool manager Roy Evans will not be relishing the return trip to London as his side attempt to go one better than last season when they lost to Manchester United at the final hurdle.

Chelsea set up the tie in three weeks' time courtesy of a 3-0 home success over West Bromwich Albion, while Liverpool managed only a Stan Collymore goal in disposing of Burnley at Anfield.

One of the other two definite ties to be drawn out of the hat by Peter Shilton and Jim Montgomery involved Saturday's giant killers Reading, who disposed of Southampton 3-1.

They now face a tricky tie at fellow Division One strugglers Portsmouth, who pulled off a surprise 2-1 win at Wolves.

The other decided clash sees the 1995 holders Everton, who comfortably disposed of Swindon 3-0 at Goodison Park yesterday, drawn at home to Division One's Bradford, 2-0 winners at Wycombe.

Manchester United, 9 to 2 favourites for, the Cup, will continue their attempt to reach the final for a record breaking fourth successive year with another home draw against the winners of the Crewe Wimbledon clash.

United manager Alex Ferguson is likely to face a tougher test than put up by injury hit Tottenham in the televised clash at Old Trafford if they have to take on in form Wimbledon.

They recently put together a 19 match unbeaten run and Ferguson admitted: "Wimbledon should be favourites to play us because they are having a great season. Joe Kinnear has really got them going and they are playing absolutely brilliantly at the moment.

"But we are at home so that's alright."

Non league Hednesford, who knocked out Blackpool in the previous round, have been given a massive incentive to triumph in the re arranged clash with York with Middlesbrough awaiting the winners.

Woking, who face Coventry in their rearranged fixture on Wednesday week, have more Premiership opposition to look forward to if they do pull off a major shock at Highfield Road. The winners have been drawn to travel to Blackburn.

Barry Fry will probably grab his fair share of the headlines with his Peterborough side who made a 560 mile round trip to win at Plymouth in the third round.

Fry's side will face a home clash with West Ham if Harry Redknapp's men dispose of Wrexham in an Upton Park replay.

. Machester United have been made 9 to 2 FA Cup favourites by William Hill, while Liverpool's odds have gone out to 7 to 1. Newcastle are second favourites at 6 to 1, while Reading, conquerors of Premiership club Southampton, are at 150 to 1.
