Camogie NLF Div 1 - Wexford 1-7 Kilkenny 1-6: WEXFORD manager JJ Doyle said his job should come with a health warning after Saturday's National League Division One final win at Thurles.
Wexford led by 1-5 to 0-6 as the game moved into injury- time, but a scrambled goal from the Kilkenny Marie Dargan looked to have stolen victory.
But Una Leacy responded immediately for Wexford before substitute Ursula Jacob pointed the winner in the eighth minute of added time.
“I’ve aged about 10 years after that,” Doyle said. “It’s great to win it . . . we thought we’d won it, then we thought we’d lost and then it looked like it’d be a draw and we’d be back again for the replay.
“The fact Una got the point so quickly after they got the goal settled us again, and then Ursula showed how good she is by coming on and getting the winner.”
Kilkenny led 0-4 to 0-3 at half-time, but Wexford’s Kate Kelly broke through for a goal within 30 seconds of the restart.
Aoife Neary replied with a point but scores were scarce until the late drama.
