Defending champions St Jarlath's advanced to the final of the Connacht Colleges senior football championship by overpowering Ballyhaunis CS in the second half at Ballyhaunis yesterday.
St Jarlath's trailed by five points at the interval but a 40th minute goal by Nicholas Joyce brought them level and they then scored nine more points without reply.
Ballyhaunis, competing at this level for the first time, had been more than a match for the champions while wind assisted in the first half and were unfortunate not to have scored two goals. They led by three points when Joyce levelled after a great move involving John O'Hara and Eamon Killeen.
