Boxing: Promoter Frank Warren insists Scott Harrison put the pride back into Scottish sport after regaining his WBO featherweight title in a bloody battle with Manuel Medina at the Braehead Arena on Saturday night.
Harrison lost his belt to the awkward Mexican last July, but in an electrifying rematch at the same venue the Scotsman was in no mood for a repeat and battered Medina into defeat in 11 rounds.
Warren insists he will do his best to ensure Harrison's fans will see the champion defend his title in his own back yard.
"I'm sure Scott will go to the States eventually, but why not get them to come over here?
"There's a great market in Scotland and we've all worked hard together to bring boxing back here."
Warren praised Harrison for his performance and claimed the Cambuslang fighter answered his critics in some very fine style.
"It was drama wasn't it? A lot of people, including myself, thought it was over in the first round, so credit to Medina, he came back but Scott stuck to his task."
Cuts man Mick Williamson, who travelled to Glasgow at short notice, was made to work for his money as he stemmed the flow from a couple of Harrison's cuts which were causing concern as the fight wore on.
"I wasn't concerned about the cuts," Harrison said, "I was just thinking about when I was going to get a chance to hit him again. But Mick done a good job patching me up."
