Webster one clear in Jakarta
EUROPEAN TOUR: Steve Webster birdied his final three holes to jump to the top of the leaderboard after the second round of the Indonesia Open yesterday.
The Englishman entered the second round of the co-sanctioned event on three under, five strokes adrift of leader Angelo Que of the Philippines.
But with the Filipino struggling in the blustery conditions at New Kuta Golf Club, Webster carded a second consecutive 69 to move into the lead on six under, one shot ahead of Denmark’s Jeppe Huldahl (66), Jamie Donaldson of Wales (71) and English compatriot Simon Dyson (71).

Cameron off to a good start
EUROPEAN SENIORS TOUR: England’s Bob Cameron got the new European Senior Tour season off to a hot start with a stunning 67 to take a one-shot lead after the first round of the Brunei Senior Masters at the Empire Hotel Country Club.

Sim and Carballo share lead
AUSTRALASIAN TOUR: Australia’s Michael Sim and Argentina’s Miguel Angel Carballo share the lead at the halfway stage of the Moonah Classic on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
Sim and Carballo sit on eight under, with the Scottish-born Australian carding a 67 and the Argentine finishing late with a 68.

Irish go out in Spanish amateur
AMATEUR: All four Irish qualifiers went out of the Spanish Open Amateur Championship in Seville at the matchplay stages yesterday.
Paul Cutler, Andrew Hogan and Alan Dunbar crashed out in the first round, while Shane Lowry, after a one hole win over Sweden’s Mattias Nordqvist, went down at the second tie hole in the second round to leading qualifier Pontus Widegren, also of Sweden.
Lang chasing first victory
LPGA TOUR: Brittany Lang of the US took a one-stroke lead into today’s third round of the Honda LPGA Classic. With a bogey-free three-under-par 69, Lang is at seven-under-par 137, one stroke ahead of Morgan Pressel and Paula Creamer.
