They say variety is the spice of life and judging by the success of a course-swapping experiment last Saturday, the members of Elm Park and Milltown will be broadening their horizons in years to come.

The two south Dublin clubs switched venues for their August Medal competitions. Elm Park afforded full privileges to Milltown captain Sean Sexton, his committee and members and Milltown did likewise for Elm Park's Brian Andrews and company. The venture was deemed a great success by the vast majority of the 350 players who took part.

Top score at Milltown came from former Elm Park tennis captain Eanna McHugh with 44 points and Philip Robin- son headed the field at Elm Park with 39. The swap may become an annual event and other clubs expressing an interest include Castle and Grange.
