Cavan SFC Final/ Cavan Gaels 0-12 Mullahoran 1-6: Cavan Gaels completed a hat-trick of football championship titles at Breffni Park yesterday when they defeated Mullahoran.
Mullahoran only managed to build up a half-time lead of 1-3 to 0-4 after playing with a strong breeze. The goal came from a penalty in the 18th minute which Danny Brady converted.
Micheál Lyng set the scene for a close finish when he fired over two points to reduce the lead to one after five minutes of the second half. With 15 minutes remaining Cavan took the lead through an Enda King point. Gaels finished strongly and two points from Seanie Johnston eased them to a three point lead.
