SAMANTHA RILEY, the 100 metres breastroke world record holder, was yesterday still awaiting a decision from swimming's world governing body on the positive drug test she returned last December.

The 23-year-old Australian tested positive at the world short course championships in Rio de Janeiro where she set world short course records in the 100 and 200 metres breaststroke.

Riley's lawyer, Peter Baston, said yesterday that he expected FINA to hand down its decision on the case "within 48 hours". But FINA director Cornel Marculescu said there could be a delay while FINA consulted with the IOC medical commission.
