Ireland's Olympic mountain bike men Martin Earley and Alastair Martin left from Manchester yesterday for Atlanta where they contest their event on Tuesday, 30th. They will have 10 days special training at Hellen in Georgia.

On Sunday Earley and Martin contested the British mountain bike series race at Hamsterley Forest in Durham and Earley was fifth with Martin 10th.

Joe McCall was eighth with Robin Seymour ninth but Seymour was deprived of a higher position at the finish as he had to stop when his chain became derailed and he then had to repair a puncture.
