Gaelic Games: Westmeath football manager Páidí Ó Sé has been criticised for apparently preventing dual player John Brennan for lining out with the county hurlers.
Brennan played hurling with the county last year, but is trying to break into the football team this season.
Westmeath hurling boss Tom Ryan said on local radio that the football management prevented Brennan from lining out with the county hurlers. He didn't play against Kildare at the weekend, and he is not now expected to join the hurling panel.
Brennan played with Castletown Geoghegan in their march to the Westmeath hurling title, and he plays his football with Kilbeggan Shamrocks.
Ryan has said he wants Brennan to play with the county hurlers against Offaly this Sunday in the National Hurling League.
