Counting down

Catriona Gallagher joined Knockanally GC in May last year, having played society golf with the Manzor's Ladies Society in Clane for the past three years. Her club handicap was 40 and two days before the Lady Captain's (Sheila Kenny) Day, she reduced it to 36 and dually won the Lady captain's Prize with an excellent score of 65. Playing in the All-Ireland captains winners final at Roscrea, Gallagher finished second with 44 points to qualify to play in Portugal in May of next year. Her handicap is now down to 29 and is sure to go lower in the coming years.
