More than any team, they seemed to encapsulate the massive leap forward gaelic games took in the 90s. Charming, controversial, progressive and generally enlightened, they stole hearts in 1995 when they stormed to their first All-Ireland since 1914. Attitudes changed somewhat when it became apparent they weren't going to retreat into obscurity. Won the championship again two year's later after an epic final against Tipperary.

Controversy stalked them in 1998 but they remain a marque name and are the most colourful act to enter the ring in many a long year.
