Causeway captured the Kerry senior hurling championship when they defeated a brave Crotta O'Neills outfit at Austin Stack Park yesterday.

It was Causeway's first championship in 11 years and they deserved it after withstanding a Crotta rally in injury time of 1-2, reducing the margin to a point.

Causeway won because they were more determined and hurled better throughout. Their full-back line, led by Maurice O'Carroll, and half-back line of Graham Barrett, Monty Leahy and John O'Halloran were superb.
