Despite brave defending by High School, Castleknock College had a convincing victory at Belfield to progress to the third round.

It was never going to be easy for High School, but their cause was not helped by an injury to outhalf, and regular place-kicker, Phil de Bara after just seven minutes.

However, the boot of number eight Simon Crawford was Castleknock's only avenue for scoring until the 46th minute.

By that time, Crawford had scored four penalties from six attempts in contrast to High School's three points.

Eventually, Castleknock pressure would pay off through two converted tries. In both cases the pack drove over the line, first for Jonathan Challenor to get the try, and then for Kieron Collins to extend the lead.
