REFOCUSING AND maintaining their current level of good form is Liam Buckley’s objective when Sporting Fingal get back to league action against Drogheda United at Morton Stadium tonight.

Sporting beat Bray Wanderers 3-0 in their last league outing. They then performed superbly in their Europa League clash with CS Marítimo in Madeira last Thursday night, losing the first leg 3-2 to a 95th minute goal.

“This is an important game to win in the context of how the league table is panning out,” said Buckley.

Defender Colin Hawkins is out for several weeks having broken two ribs against Maritimo. Striker Gary O’Neill remains sidelined with a groin injury while midfield anchor Shane McFaul must pass a fitness test on his niggling hamstring strain.

Drogheda have appointed Brian Donnelly as their caretaker manager, though Darius Kierans, who had to relinquish charge for a second time last week as he hasn’t the required coaching licence, is permitted in the dugout.

Paul Crowley is an injury doubt while Jamie Harris, Darragh McNamara, Eric McGill and Peter McMahon are all injured.
