Blackrock College were victorious in the J P Fanagan Under-20 League final last night at Anglesea Road. The game offered two contrasting styles with St Mary's concentrating their efforts up front while Blackrock opted for a more expansive game.
St Mary's took the lead after five minutes with a try from Irish under-21 prop Noel Foxe. However Blackrock responded with back-to-back tries from Shane Sorohan and Paul Drew to lead 13-5 at the interval.
Although St Mary's ran their opponents close after the break, Ronan Murphy's try was to prove decisive for Blackrock in the end.
