Blackrock College this afternoon seek to regain the Leinster Schools' Junior Cup crown, which they lost to Belvedere last year, when they face St Michael's College in the final at Lansdowne Road (kick-off 4.15). Blackrock won their 39th Junior Cup two years ago by beating Newbridge in the final 21-7, but last year lost 8-7 to Belvedere, who this year were knocked out by St Michael's.

Tradition probably decrees that the Williamstown youngsters are regarded as favourites even though they only edged past Newbridge in the semi-finals with a couple of late tries after trailing going into the last minute of normal time.

Furthermore, the St Michael's half of the draw has been just as tough, and they've played an extra match in accounting for St Paul's, Belvedere, Pres Bray and St Mary's along the way to reach what is only the school's third Junior Cup final.

BLACKROCK COLLEGE: Stephen O'Brien; Michael Kavanagh, David Nynan, Ryan Walsh (capt), Chris Moore; Jason Quinn, Cillian Willis; Alex Franciosi, James Coady, David Soden, Robert Quinn, Stephen Moloney, Shane McClafferty, Barry John Leahy, Kealan O'Toole.
