Pakistan lost seven wickets in the final session yesterday but salvaged a draw in the third Test in Bangalore - still enough to give India a 1-0 series victory.

The hosts, who edged the series thanks to their first-Test triumph, looked to have left their declaration too late to force victory in the last match, moving on to 284 for six before asking the tourists to bat again.

But chasing an impossible victory target of 374, Pakistan crumbled to 162 for seven before bad light brought an early close.

Captain Anil Kumble was the pick of the India bowlers, with five for 60.
