A goal with the last puck of the game by corner forward, Karl Stewart, gave Antrim a flattering victory over Derry at Casement Park, Belfast yesterday.
Paul Hearty put Derry three points ahead inside the opening three minutes. Antrim drew level midway through the half with three points from Stewart frees before Derry regained the lead through Dominic Magill's point. Antrim finished the half with five points to lead by 0-8 to 0-5. Within four minutes of the restart, Derry regained the lead with a Jim Kelly goal. Antrim responded with a Sean McFadden goal, followed by points from Sean Delargy, Kevin McGourty and Delargy again to lead by 1-11 to 1-5 with five minutes remaining. Derry fought back with three points by Paul Hearty and one by substitute Rory Convery before Stewart struck.
