Sir, - There has been enough recent correspondence about fare comparisons, which are hardly ever fair. Most people realise by now that there is little to choose between the major airlines on cost. The only differentiation seems to be cheapness of service.
However, Ryanair's recent advertisement in the national press under the tag line "We're taking off" gives great cause for concern. The map of their European routes that accompanies the advertisement indicates that Bournemouth is at Bognor; Glasgow Prestwick at Greenock; Teesside at Newcastle; Cardiff at Swansea; Manchester at Blackpool; Leeds/Bradford at Penrith; Brussels at Courtrai; Venice at Farrara; and Kristianstad/ Malmo at Karlskrona.
I realise that to run a cheap airline one needs to make economies but let us hope the pilots have more accurate navigational charts.
By the way, it may, just may, be understandable to make these errors in respect of foreign countries but it must be baffling to people who wish to fly from Kerry airport to find that it is located at Bantry. - Yours, etc., Don Urwin,
