Sir, - I am fed up with so-called "traffic-calming" measures. These seem to consist of ramps which are often poorly lit and badly marked, where I risk breaking a spring of my car or falling off my bicycle; roundabouts which create traffic jams where there were none before; and new traffic lights installed, often within a few hundred yards of existing ones.
Traffic calming? How about creating some driver-calming measures? - Yours, etc.,
