The siege of Donegal

Sir, – It began with a no-fly zone over the east of Donegal with cessation of the Derry to Dublin air service. It continued with our Government reneging on its share of the motorway to Donegal from Dublin despite our Northern counterpart’s efforts. Now the sorely needed bus service to bring patients directly to all Dublin hospitals has been shut down (Home News, July 28th).

The incumbents have outdone even their erstwhile predecessors in laying siege to Donegal. Where is the system that seeks to build health integration with hub and spoke service? It is surely an unusual siege and sanction that seeks to hurt those among the most vulnerable in society – the sick? – Yours, etc,
