Sir, - We have had the Olympics, the Mini Olympics and the Wheelchair Olympics, so I would suggest that someone out there might organise a "Veteran Olympics", where the minimum age for participation would be 50. They could be called the "Grey Olympics", or maybe the "Wrinkly games".
You would be surprised how many competitive wrinklys there ar, who would love to have a go at beach volleyball or underwater ballet. Also, as there is a rumour that ballroom dancing is to be included in the next Olympics in Australia, perhaps this would be a chance for the veterans to get in, on the ground floor, as it were. - Yours, etc.,
