Sir, - I am not a crank, a headbanger, or a member of the Workers' Party. I am someone who has been visiting the Old Head of Kinsale since I was a child 50 years ago. We regularly walked out to the lighthouse and were never once impeded by the then sensible owners of the private land.
The new owner of the golf course says, "Quite simply you cannot have people rambling around a golf course" (The Irish Times, September 4th). So why did he develop the site when Cork County Council planning permission was conditional on granting public access to the area in daylight hours? - Yours, etc.,
