Sir, - Perhaps current and recent industrial disputes in CIE would be settled promptly and public services improved if the Minister for Public Enterprise were deprived of the use of the ministerial car and obliged to use public transport. She could then enjoy, endure or suffer the same level of service as the rest of us. As Minister, she is CIE's sole shareholder and one can have little confidence in any company whose owner refuses, except for the odd publicity stunt, to use its products or services. Think where Microsoft would be if Bill Gates did not use Windows. - Yours, etc.
