Sir, - It was gratifying to read your editorial (July 7th) which highlighted the evils of racialism, or should one say Hansonism, and the threat it poses to Australia. Mary Russell's Irishwoman's Diary on the same page highlighted the work of Dr Kader Asmal and one must never forget that it was his work in Ireland, together with the unselfish sacrifices of Dunnes Stores workers, which set the international wheels, that ultimately destroyed the apartheid regime in South Africa, in motion.
While it might not please Ms Hanson, I am sure most readers will agree with me when I say "good on you, Ed" and "fair dinkum, Mary" for page 15 of today's paper. - Yours, etc., Des Sheridan,
