Madam, – Would anyone take out a loan in order to make a charitable donation? I doubt it. Could someone then please explain how it makes sense for the Government to borrow money to do the same? I suggest that individual citizens should make their own decision on the amount and target of their giving rather than relying on the Government to borrow this money and repay it (using future tax revenues) on their behalf. – Yours, etc,
