Sir, - The otherwise excellent Obituary of Prof Crowley (July 8th) omitted any reference to the significant period he spent as a secondary school teacher.
Having acquired the degree of M.Sc. and the H.Dip. in Ed. in 1926, he took up duties as teacher of maths and science in CUS - the Catholic University School run by the Marist Fathers in Leeson Street, Dublin. He occupied this post for seven years - 1926/7 to 1932/3. His name, with qualifications, appears in the staff list in the CUS annuals for those years, during a number of which I had the pleasure of being one of his pupils. - Yours, etc.,
