Sir, - The Pope's pronouncements on the lesbian and gay parade in Rome should not pass without comment. They will be used to promote and justify intolerance, discrimination, and even anti-gay violence.
Homophobia is, I suppose, no surprise when Christian values have also included support for inquisitions, crusades, witch burning, slavery and misogyny - but I sincerely regret that the values of love, care, honesty and respect are of such little consequence. - Yours, etc.,
