Madam, - I should be obliged if you would allow me to appeal to your readers for information on a picture by one of the Brocas family, entitled "A bagpipe player and children at a cottage". I have discovered from The Irish Timesonline archive that this was included in an auction at the Adams auction house in late April or early May 1976. The report is carried in your issue of Saturday, April 24th of that year.
If the auction house published a catalogue for the sale it no longer has a copy of it, nor is one to be found in the National Library, nor the library of the National College of Art and Design. Hence my appeal to your readership.
