Sir, - Your correspondent (February 19th) found that when she attended the Circuit Criminal Court in Dublin for jury service there was no soap in the ladies' toilets nor in the jurors' toilets. She was lucky.
When in 1958, Councillor Kathleen Swanton and I broke new ground by being admitted as jurors (none having been accepted since 1927) we found there was only one toilet for the use of jurors. In fact we had been told "off the cuff" that one of the administrative difficulties of accepting women jurors was that there was no separate toilet. It was true. - Yours, etc., Beatrice Dixon,
Rathgar, Dublin 6.
