A chara, - Am I the only person being driven quietly mad by An Post's "Next Day Special" service? At this point, it would be cheaper, less stressful and far more efficient for me to train pigeons to deliver my parcels rather than rely on this Kafkaesque service. I posted three parcels by the same service (paid extra for it, even) in Crumlin on June 20th, to be delivered to three Dublin addresses (no county-hopping involved). They were delivered on the 22nd, 23rd, and 26th. Hardly "special" or "Next Day". When I enquired as to the whereabouts of the latter two (10 mins on hold, on the 23rd), worryingly enough, there was no trace of them. Happily, they were eventually found and delivered on the dates aforementioned. This was not a new experience for me.

Strangely enough, when I ring SDS in Naas (10 mins holding), I am told that "Next Day Special" (confusingly enough), does not guarantee delivery the next day or the day after that either, but their EMS courier service does. I post a lot of parcels. I can't afford that.

Yes, I complained in writing (more time wasted, ho-hum). I was thanked for my "recent application" (I don't want a job), and informed that "enquiries have commenced". In short, I'm fed up.-Is mise,
