‘Mob prosecutor for Trump inquiry’

Sir, – The news headline announcing the appointment of a lawyer with a background in tackling organised crime to the US House of Representatives' Trump investigation initially raised my hopes that the soap opera of American politics had found a novel subplot, with new and colourful characters ("US house committee hires mob prosecutor for Trump inquiry", News, March 6th).

Reading that he had previously secured “the conviction of Las Vegas sports gambler William ‘Billy’ Walters for insider trading” was quite a letdown therefore. Such a bland nickname hardly warrants inverted commas.
