Sir, - I am very glad that in his letter (April 8th) Brendan O'Brien pointed out that on the new 32p stamp for Louie Bennett she was termed a "suffragette", rather than a "suffragist". In those early years, the word "suffragette" was used for those who agitated with violence for suffrage.
Louie Bennett was my aunt, and I know well she hated violence in any form. Thank you, Brendan. Yours, etc.,
