Madam, - I agree with Jack Hoey's comments (November 23rd) regarding the drivers of monster trucks.
I live in a small cul-de-sac off a busy road, and in over 30 years of driving I have received far more courtesy from truck and bus drivers than from private motorists, when trying to exit the estate.
The trucks themselves are a nightmare, but as we are in the EU they have become an unpleasant part of our lives. As they are so high off the ground, they should have special mirrors to enable drivers to see what is directly in front of them, but beyond their line of vision. But this is the responsibility of the manufacturers and the regulatory authorities, not the drivers.
I shudder to think of the effects of momentum when one of these giant vehicles has to stop suddenly. Hats off to the drivers - they are very brave people. - Yours, etc.,
