Irish Troops In Kosovo

Sir, - I welcome the recent arrival in Kosovo of over 100 Irish troops to help implement the settlement there

Sir, - I welcome the recent arrival in Kosovo of over 100 Irish troops to help implement the settlement there. I supported the NATO action in Kosovo, with reservations, because it was clear that a planned campaign of genocide was under way. However, I note a deafening silence on the part of those who opposed NATO's campaign at the prospect of Irish troops serving alongside NATO ones there. Is this silence an indication of approval on their part, and if so why? How is it possible to oppose in principle military action and then also to support Irish troops upholding the results of that action? I call on those people and organisations who opposed NATO's campaign, to demand the recall of Irish troops from involvement in what they must see as an unjust settlement. As far as I can see, for them to do anything else means they are guilty of hypocrisy. - Yours, etc.,
