Madam, - Is there no end to the nauseating and outrageous hypocrisy of Sinn Féin/IRA? In relation to the apparent finding of the remains of the murdered Jean McConville a Sinn Féin/IRA source was quoted in your edition of August 28th as saying that "the family's feelings should be respected".

How sick can you get? It defies belief that the very party which actively supported the murder campaign of the Provos has the audacity to come out with such a statement.

What is even more disgusting is the ever-increasing way Sinn Féin/IRA's murderous past is glossed over by the media and politicians alike. It is all very well for people to say that Sinn Féin/IRA must be brought into the political arena, but if we are going to have inquiries into such tragedies as Bloody Sunday then it's about time we had inquiries into the activities of some of the high-ranking members of Sinn Féin/IRA.

The Provos (with the enthusiastic backing of its political wing, Sinn Féin) murdered more than 1,800 people in recent times. As these deaths fade away in the popular consciousness it is becoming much easier for the spin doctors in Sinn Féin/IRA to get more and more votes in elections.
