Sir, – It’s long time since I sat the Leaving Cert, but even I can see that the Irish translations on the Covid-19 passenger locator form are appallingly bad.
I’m asked for my dáta imeacht (dáta imeachta), my eitilt uimhir (uimhir eitilte), my uimhir gutháin (uimhir ghutháin), and my pas uimhir (uimhir phas).
Perhaps when the Minister for Health signs the next pandemic statutory instrument in our national language he might proofread it first!
