Sir, - A thought occurred to me as I stood at College Green, gazing through the haze of traffic pollution at a group lf bewildered pedestrians waiting for the green light to cross. For the cost of the inner city sections of Dublin's light rail system underground, the proposed third light rail line serving Ballymun and Dublin Airport could be included in the first phase of construction.
Why place a new, non polluting form of public transport underground when the pollution from private cars is already exceeding EU guide limits in the city centre? - Yours, etc.,
