I want to praise you for raising awareness of it, but also to clarify that Séamus Sherlock runs much more than a Facebook page. He travels around the country, organising meetings to provide inspirational forums of discussion to aid those coping with debt management. He also fields numerous calls on a daily basis, listening and providing advice and most recently has held a “Walk to Unity” march. He provides all of this free of charge, with no support.

In my humble opinion this man deserves a year-end bonus for all his valiant efforts, but unlike the bankers and public sector officials he won’t be receiving any recompense for his job this year end. His reward takes the form of saving something money cannot buy, (but sadly can take) and that is people’s lives. – Yours, etc,

FIONA O’BRIEN,
