Cleaning up for the papal visit

Sir, – The last time a pope paid a visit to Dublin there was much effort put into the cleaning up of litter by the county councils. I can see no such effort this time.

Indeed it would appear that all the litter picker-uppers have been on holiday all summer.

The grass verges have been cut but the litter exposed by that cutting is not picked up. – Yours, etc,

EVA CARROLL,

Glasnevin, Dublin 9.
