Sir, - I have saved and worked hard, and got enough money together to buy a house. I did not realise that the next hurdle is trying to view properties. Excuses I have received to date include: "no electricity"; "have not got the full set of keys"; "there is someone in the premises who will not allow us access". My success rate for viewing property is 50 per cent - for appointments made days in advance. In each case I have taken time out of work and travelled some distance.
Where else in private industry do you turn up to a meeting unprepared, apologise and ask your client to try again next week? - Yours, etc.,
