Madam, Dr Garret FitzGerald (Opinion, October 16th) refers to the phoenix-like emergence of a “public concern for integrity”. This concern for integrity and wholeness has become a political movement in Switzerland where it has emerged as the Integrale Politik – “the Integral Party”. Its manifesto focuses on the social, ecological and psychological problems of humanity. It aims for integrity in politics and for the renewal of culture and society on the basis of a new consciousness. Perhaps those who are reacting against the “tried and trusted” political thinking in Ireland might consider allying themselves with this emerging group. – Yours, etc,
